About me

After studying technical computer engineering, I worked as a software developer from 2000 onwards and as a manager from 2007 onwards. I was able to gain experience in various (mostly international) companies in different industries. I got to know very different corporate cultures: from 10-person startups (as a partner) to international market leaders with 1,000+ employees. I enjoyed to work with colleagues from many cultures and nations.

During the last stage of my career, I was able to support a complex enterprise software development project from the initial design and the initial lines of code, through the intermediate stages of an on-premises solution with Oracle as RDBMS, to a cloud solution in Azure with SQL Server as a software architect and lead developer. A CI/CD solution with Jenkins, JUnit, and Selenium provided continuous quality control.

After almost 25 years as an employee, I decided to seek new challenges and continue my career as a freelancer. My focus will be on software development in Java and PHP.
